Ex-Minneapolis police officer sentenced to 12.5 years for lethal shooting of unarmed 911 caller Justine Damond

A Minneapolis police officer convicted of homicide has been sentenced to 12.5 years in penal complex for the 2017 lethal shooting of an unarmed lady who known as 911.

Mohamed Noor used to be convicted in April of third-diploma homicide and second-diploma manslaughter in the July 2017 death of Justine Ruszczyk Damond, a 40-twelve months-common twin citizen of the U.S. and Australia.

Noor shot Damond when she approached his squad automobile in the alley in the wait on of her residence.

His attorneys had argued for a lightweight sentence, saying sending him to penal complex would handiest compound the tragedy and leave him unable to invent amends for killing Damond.

Right here’s a rising myth. Compare wait on for updates.
